Hi, I’m Shane McNicholas, a Cleveland-based photographer capturing life’s moments since 2020.
My journey into photography started in an unexpected way — I bought a camera to take better photos of watches from my personal collection. I wanted clients to see every detail and truly understand the quality of each piece. That simple goal opened a new creative door. Once I realized what a modern mirrorless camera could do, I started exploring my surroundings — chasing sunsets, exploring bridges, parks, and hidden corners of downtown Cleveland during the quiet months of lockdown.
As I shared my work, friends began asking if I could capture their family portraits. That soon grew into requests for events, engagements, sports, and eventually weddings — and I haven’t looked back since.
What I love most about photography is how it connects me to people and moments that matter. Every session is an opportunity to preserve memories authentically and beautifully — images that will still feel meaningful decades from now.
Over the years, my work has been featured in magazines and news outlets, and I’ve been honored to be nominated multiple times for Cleveland Scene’s Best Photographer. I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings, working with local businesses, documenting touring bands, capturing sporting events, and even showcasing my work at Cleveland Photo Fest.
I never imagined photography would become such a central part of my life, and I’m deeply grateful for every opportunity and every person who’s supported me — whether you’ve trusted me with your memories or simply liked a post. This truly is the best job in the world.
